What We’re About:
It is our desire to minister to your child in a manner that will draw them closer to our Lord, Jesus Christ. Our goal is to provide a fun and secure environment for children so that they can learn about God’s love through the Word and worship of our Lord. We believe that God’s Word can be presented in ways that will minister specifically to children and draw them into a closer relationship with Him.
All children’s services are blessed to have a time of musical worship. The songs are geared to teach children to worship, using exciting and uplifting music appropriate for their age level. We have a time of worship for preschool age children during each service, which is presented in the preschool classrooms. We also have worship in The Court of Praise for children in Kindergarten through 6th Grade. On Sunday mornings, our 6th Grade class has their own special time of worship in their classroom.
Children’s Church
Is available for both the 9:00 am and 11:00 am services, as well as Saturday night service. We use “Great Big God” and Karen Henley’s “Bible Learning Series” for ages 2-5 and “Discipleland” curriculum for grades K – 5. We feel this curriculum offers a good balance between teaching children the Word of God and helping them apply it to every aspect of their lives.
Club Venture
Is specifically designed to teach our 5th and 6th grade students how to take what they are learning from the Bible and apply it to their daily lives. Worship and Bible teaching are taught in a casual atmosphere geared toward the preteen. Our goal is to give this age group a place where they can learn and grow and connect before “venturing out” and into the Jr. High and older Youth areas. We encourage students to make connections with their peers, through planned events such as picnics, movie nights etc. Club Venture meets every Saturday evening and Sunday morning during regular service times, 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. if you need any additional information you can call the Children’s Ministry office at (714)695-9650 x305.
Nursery
Our nursery offers loving care for infants and toddlers up to two years of age, and is open during all services.
Special Needs
Our desire is to help children with disabilities or special needs to experience the joy of knowing they are valuable to God and to grow in their understanding of God’s Word. We offer a special needs class that meets in the Fortress classroom, Sunday mornings at 9:00 am and Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm. Please contact the Children’s Ministry office ext 316 if your child has a disability or special need. Any information shared is strictly confidential.
AWANA (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed)
2nd Timothy 2:15 “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
Awana is an exciting club that meets on Wednesday nights during the school year at 6:45 pm for children 4 years old through 6th grade. The kids have lively worship, fun games and lessons that point them to a deeper relationship with God. Awards and team points are earned for Scripture memorization and participation in our fun theme nights! On Wednesday evenings, preschoolers are taught with curriculum prepared by Karen Henley & Discipleland.
