What is Blessfest

Blessfest is an outreach to the homeless community in our neighborhood. In Luke 6:31 we are told to, “Treat others the same way you want them to treat you.” That is exactly what we are doing this Thanksgiving Day when we open the doors of the church to hundreds of people who are currently experiencing homelessness.

Our goal is to meet as many physical needs as possible for each guest while pointing them toward the only one who can meet their spiritual needs, Jesus! There will be prayer, worship, a gospel message and several free social services as well. Each guest will have the opportunity to utilize our free services including a complete Thanksgiving meal, medical, dental, dermatological, vision, haircuts, manicures, make-up, clothing, legal and childcare. Guests are also going to be given new backpacks stocked with personal hygiene items, toiletries, and scripture reminders.

Jesus has blessed so many of us with an abundance of material possessions. Thanksgiving Day is a great day to remember these blessings and to say thank you to the one who provided for these needs. “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” Matthew 25:40

If you would like to join us in blessing our guests, you can donate or volunteer. Each month we focus on collecting specific items, but please feel free to donate what you can when it’s convenient for you. We also accept monetary donations to cover food, supplies, and rental costs that are for the sole purpose of benefitting our Blessfest guests.

In 2019 we had over 800 volunteers serving over 300 guests. Space is limited so sign up soon.

Your Blessfest shirt and a good attitude. Wearing your Blessfest shirt is encouraged but not mandatory.
